Every figure on this site is drawn from public government records: the federal complaint database (owner-reported safety complaints since 1995), the federal recall register (defect and compliance campaigns since 1967), and EPA fuel-economy data. Complaint counts are owner reports, not verified defect findings. Recall repairs are always free at franchised dealers.
